2025 Ford Bronco Maintenance Schedule
Complete Service Intervals for 2.3L EcoBoost, 2.7L EcoBoost & 3.0L EcoBoost Raptor Engines

Ford Bronco Scheduled Maintenance Overview
Keeping your 2025 Ford Bronco on schedule protects your investment and ensures reliable performance on every drive through Western North Carolina, whether you're cruising the highway or conquering trails in the Pisgah National Forest. Ford's maintenance plan relies on the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor (IOLM), an algorithm-based system that tracks engine RPM, load, temperature, and trip length to determine exactly when your Bronco needs service, so there's no guesswork required.
Under easy highway driving the IOLM can run close to its limit between changes, while off-road use, frequent short trips, mountain grades, or extreme temperatures bring the service message on sooner. Regardless of the reading, Ford states to never exceed 10,000 miles or 1 year between oil changes, to have the service done within 2 weeks or 500 miles of the message, and to fall back to every 5,000 miles or 6 months if the monitor is ever inoperative.

Complete Maintenance Schedule by Mileage
| Mileage Interval | Services Performed |
|---|---|
| Every 10,000 miles (Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor; do not exceed 10,000 mi / 1 yr) | Change engine oil & filter (reset IOLM); rotate tires, inspect wear & tread depth; multi-point inspection; inspect ATF level (dipstick models); inspect brake pads/shoes/rotors/drums/linings/hoses & parking brake; inspect coolant strength & hoses; inspect exhaust & heat shields; inspect front axle & U-joints (lube fittings); inspect halfshaft boots; inspect steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, driveshaft & U-joints; inspect wheels for noise/wear/looseness; inspect cabin air filter & engine air filter, service as required |
| Every 20,000 mi | Replace cabin air filter (FP-93) |
| Every 30,000 mi | Replace engine air filter |
| Every 100,000 mi | Replace spark plugs; inspect accessory drive belt(s) (then every other oil change until replaced) |
| Every 150,000 mi | Change automatic transmission fluid & filter; change manual transmission fluid; change front axle fluid; change rear axle fluid; change transfer case fluid; replace accessory drive belt(s) |
| At 200,000 mi / 10 years | Change engine coolant (initial); then every 5 years / 100,000 mi |
| Every 3 years | Change brake fluid (DOT 4 LV, WSS-M6C65-A2); requires dealer equipment |
Time-Based Service
Brake fluid: Replace every 3 years regardless of mileage or driving conditions; Ford does not shorten this interval for severe use. The Bronco requires Motorcraft DOT 4 LV brake fluid (WSS-M6C65-A2) and special equipment available at the Mahon Ford service center. Engine coolant: Motorcraft Yellow prediluted coolant gets its first change at 200,000 miles or 10 years, then every 100,000 miles or 5 years.
Engine-Specific Maintenance Details
The 2025 Bronco is available with three powertrains: the 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands and Heritage Edition; the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 available on every trim except the Raptor and standard on the Stroppe Edition; and the 3.0L EcoBoost V6 exclusive to the Raptor. All three take SAE 5W-30 Motorcraft full synthetic oil meeting Ford spec WSS-M2C961-A1 and follow the same intervals, but oil capacity, oil filter, engine air filter and spark plug part numbers differ, so your technician needs to know which engine is under the hood.

Off-Road & Trail Maintenance
Trail use is where a Bronco earns its keep, and it's also where Ford's every-oil-change inspection matters most. That inspection covers the front axle and U-joints (including lube fittings), halfshaft boots, steering linkage, ball joints, tie-rod ends, driveshaft, brake hoses, exhaust heat shields, and both air filters, so tell your service advisor how the Bronco has been used.
- Water crossings: Ford calls for axle and transfer case service outside the normal schedule only when the units have been submerged or are leaking, so after a deep crossing have the front and rear axle and transfer case fluids checked for water intrusion.
- Dust and gravel roads: engine and cabin air filters need more frequent inspection and replacement than the 30,000- and 20,000-mile intervals suggest.
- Regular off-road use: follow the severe-service schedule, which moves front axle and transfer case fluid changes up to every 30,000 miles and spark plugs to 60,000 miles.
Severe & Special Operating Conditions
Ford defines "severe operating conditions" as driving that places increased stress on vehicle components. If any of the following apply to your regular driving habits, several maintenance intervals are shortened:
- Frequent off-road driving (mud, sand, rocks, water crossings)
- Mountain driving with steep grades (common in WNC)
- Frequent towing or hauling heavy loads
- Frequent short trips under 5 to 10 miles
- Extended idling or stop-and-go traffic
- Driving in dusty or gravel-road conditions
- Extreme heat or cold temperatures
| Service Item | Normal Interval | Severe Interval |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil & filter | IOLM (up to 10,000 mi / 1 year) | IOLM triggers sooner; 5,000 mi / 6 months if the monitor is inoperative |
| Spark plugs (all EcoBoost engines) | 100,000 mi | 60,000 mi |
| Front axle fluid | 150,000 mi | 30,000 mi |
| Transfer case fluid | 150,000 mi | 30,000 mi |
| Rear axle fluid | 150,000 mi | 150,000 mi (no shortened interval; check after submersion) |
| Automatic transmission fluid & filter | 150,000 mi | 150,000 mi (no shortened interval) |
| Brake fluid | Every 3 years | Every 3 years (no severe variant) |
| Engine air filter | 30,000 mi | Inspect at every oil change; replace as needed in dusty conditions |
| Cabin air filter | 20,000 mi | Inspect at every oil change; replace as needed in dusty conditions |
Western NC Mountain Driving
Routes like US-276 through the Pisgah National Forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I-26 through the Saluda Grade put extra stress on your Bronco's brakes, transmission, and cooling system. Bronco owners who also trail on the many Forest Service roads near Brevard and Pisgah should follow the severe-condition schedule, which brings front axle and transfer case fluid changes forward to every 30,000 miles, even if most of their driving is on pavement.

Monthly & Semi-Annual Owner Checks
